Yacht Serendipity

It’s not monetised and mostly for the benefit of family and friends (many of whom are none sailors, so please excuse any explanations that might appear simple)

Mostly written by my wife but I do try and glance at the blog entries before they’re published. It’s often written on her phone so please excuse the typos etc. I also appreciate that I’ve told some of the stories on here so some of it is old hat to some forum members.

John wish you and your wife luck on your adventure after many many years cruising I can say we don't regret one day not even the days when we sat out storms with the grab bag ready to go, cat and dog life jacket on as green water rush over the deck trying to wash them away .

We had our days of blog writing more my other half then me and for years we kept it going for friends and family, ours had to be writing in English and Dutch to accommodate some of my partner friends but in the end the blog got less and less as we found less to writing about .
There only so many time one can write we anchored in X had swim, explored X sew dolfin and another boat just dragged on to us.
So fair winds fellow forummate , enjoy each day as most of us know it don't last for ever .

How very true. Mrs M says there’s a lot of eating and drinking in the blog atm.

Thanks John, il will peruse that at some point.
Didn't realise you had a Sealord- we came quite close to buying two different examples before we settled on our Moody.

I was certain that we would start a blog, but in practise I find a lengthy Facebook post every couple of months summarises what I want to say, to the audience I choose.
Keeping a 45yr old boat in working order, and homeschooling a 6yr old, all on a pretty tight budget, seems to both keep us busy and not create thrilling content for other people to read.

Can't beat that peace of mind. Hopefully the recent weather is dispersing now and your flight is on time.

Enjoy a Blighty Christmas!

I hope that yourselves only had a very mild dose of covid - not much fun being locked up with all your new toys, and not being able to install or play with them on the boat.
Are you still in high latitudes, and have you managed to abscond back down south?
I am thinking that you must still be up north, as Marinetraffic has not heard from you for almost a month now -

We’re at Gatwick travelodge flying back out to Serendipity this morning. Barbados here we come. See you soon all being well. COVID was reasonably mild and we got our booster jabs a couple of days ago.

Hopefully we will be gone from Ecuador by the time you get to the Pacific. I did meet up with one other Sealord in Chile quite a few years back.
Safe travels!!!
My young bloke brought Covid down from Canberra about 12 days ago - Merry Christmas indeed. A 12 hour wonder for me but not very nice.
