Popped up to London yesterday to see a mate in hospital.Room over looked river just up from Borises lair.A good view of St Pauls and the Gerkin etc.Suprised at the sheer amount of traffic apart from usual clippers, trip boats and ribs a good sprinkling of everything from canoes, speedboats,a titchy Sealine or two and a wheezy little cabin cruiser really struggling against ebbing tide. What is most obvious from high up is exactly who was creating most wash. The trip boats.clippers, river experience ribs and tugs paled into insignificance against a police Targa making its way back down towards Tower Bridge.
The Shard is amazing.

You obviously didn't see the fire boats, they are like floating skips with wash to match.

We where there early Sunday afternoon, fascinating just watching everthing go past from the comfort of a warm room and not worrying about if your a going to make it to Teddington on time in one direction or what awaits you at the point of no return for us Medwayites somewhere around Sea Reach in the other .
Did wander down to Thames Shad for a bite to eat and looked in some of the eateries right on the river bank, but poverty drove us into a "proper" pub The Thames Tap ? in one of the back streets.
Steak pie @ 6.95 and a cheap pint of beer.
