Greetings to all you hairy string and glue artists.

It has been pointed out that you lot are mean penny pinching DIY types, who could, if they wanted to, build an entire Yacht with egg cartons and an old cereal packet, and that it would successfully sail betwixt the cheapest ports in Europe for years without incident on nowt but Solar power and wave movements, catching fish for you to eat free of charge during the process.

Anyway, thats the niceties out of the way....

I have a [muted tones] Motor [/muted tones] Boat with a Propex gas heater, and the fecker doesn't work. It switches on fan wise, and after six seconds, clicks and switches off.

The handbook says it doesn't need maintaining, and I suspect it needs the pilot light/ burner etc cleaned and so on. I have a new gas bottle, and the fuses are fine.

Any ideas?

Thank you for you assistance..... /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

did it used to work? has anything been changed since it did work? if yes and no then be certain there is gas to the unit, be certain there is 12+ volts at the unit. After this it gets tricky!! You could check whatever it is that makes the spark first.

Thanks chaps, I'll try contacting the manufacturer and see if they'll talk to me!

It's got fan power, but I only bought the boat a month or so ago, and never saw it work. I'm sure it'll repair though, just wondering if anybody had fixed one at all that's all.

Cheers! /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif
