Superb visit round to the river.Excellent, prompt and friendly service at all the locks, despite being a very busy week and only once had self service.
Curious that on some stretches you hardly saw anything else moving and yet have never seen the Windsor or Henley public moorings so busy.Had to raft alongside on the Brocas.
Found an excellent pizza place in Cookham village near the station and usual bargain meal in Italian Concept at Runnymede.
Definately more NBs and the river and those monster barge things that have become very popular.
Still no pound shops in Windsor or Henley. :(
Did notice a small cabin cruiser firmly aground just below Teddington weir being checked out by the RNLI.
Spotted a few forumites en route and they all waved...at least I think they were waving.
Would guess at least 20 + RCC boats up there.

We waved both Fingers at you and the Wife, but she didn't seem to recognise us :p :ambivalence:

Glad you had a great time though, nice to see you all! :encouragement:

The Costa moorings? He is almost a fixture there!

H,mm :)

Murv on his way

Parked on the "right bit of the Lawn" after all the mooring blockers have fled back to the safety of the marina.

Pity you couldn't make it up to Ashmount. We have had no clubs here for two weeks. Thames Valley Cruising Club is due here next weekend.

Up to Henley and back we go.

Bit usual for us to not get as far up as Sonning our normal turn round point, time is our limiting factor.
Hope to get up to you ,probably in the very near future, time is moving on. .
Most of RCC are retired and are able go for 3-4 weeks.

We did however have great time exploring all the swings and roundabouts near to the river, especially the really posh ones at Henley.
