We had a few days of almost no wind (pretty rare) and glorious sunshine (not rare at all) down here, right in the middle of the Med.
So, today we could cherry-pick the very best anchoring and snorkeling spots that the place can offer - which are among the best in the whole Med, imho.
On top of that, we had the privilege to have onboard some friends whose competence on food and wines is on par, if not better, with most starred restaurants. As a result, we had a memorable lunch, including also some stuff supplied from the sea in real time.
Bottom line, saying that we enjoyed a perfect boating day is an understatement.
No pics or clips, sorry. I couldn't be bothered.
Otoh, I can't help thinking how privileged we are, particularly in comparison with people stranded by an earthquake, or at sea while trying to escape life-threatening conditions, or whatever.
And THIS is more worth remembering than any pic or clips.
I wish you all many days like this, for the rest of this 2016 summer! :encouragement:

Same where we are at the furthest South West end of the French Med ... day after day, week in week out, cloudless skies and 30 degrees ... 2 days last week 35 and 36 which was just too hot. Oh, and the occasional biblical thunderstorm ... we seem to manage these hardships though!

Lovely. As for your kind wish - we will have to sit on it for a month or three, but will be thinking of you when the time comes. Meanwhile we are enjoying winter boating. Cheers.

G'day SW, hope all's well across the ditch :)

You know MM's waiting for you to go and visit him, he keeps feeding out these ideallic scenarios to remind folk where he is ;)

Nice work skipper, enjoy the remainder of the season!

Soon on way to airport, 2.5 hours to Murcia, then onto marina. Overnight on boat then await some friends and off to Ibiza for 2 week cruise. Is exactly same as course in June, and feel blessed to be able to enjoy such beautiful things. We too have and had guests on board who were brilliant cooks, so incredible marinades and onto electric bbq.
Not much not to enjoy,
Rgds all,
Roger

I can picture a perfect boating day from your description. Very nice indeed.

We also had glorious sunshine last weekend although F9 winds and four meter waves on Saturday kept us in port. Incredibly it was all gone on Sunday and we got to enjoy a nice cruise around Helsinki.

Yep, indeed the news of the events you mentioned make you see the sunshine, not the storm.

As I recall, also the islands around Helsinki should offer a very interesting background for some nice drone clips...! :)
Or is that somewhat restricted, in that area?

Two or three of the islands are used by the military whom might disapprove a drone flight but other than that there are no restrictions I'm aware of.

You might have already spotted this bit I shot earlier while leaving Helsinki.

Indeed! :)
Btw, am I alone in not seeing anymore clickable videos when embedded in a post with the "youtube" tag?
Also in other occasions, I had to click "reply with quote" to view the youtube code, and then cut and paste it directly in youtube website - as if embedding doesn't actually works...

I did notice something funny when embedding the vid above and I had to click on the black video space holder to see the preview. I also noticed that the viewings on my latest clips on the cruise thread were pretty low but that has probably more to do with the content :).
