I like the way they have "areas of convection" instead of squalls.

All technically quite correct... And better than the forecasts we get on the dumbed-down uk gogglebox...

I agree the weather forecasts in the states are way better than those given on UK TV. They even show me the rain just about to fall on my house, thanks to live doppler radar! But...the forecasters do have a tendency to use two or more words when one will do, as in "afternoon hours" when the word "afternoon" would suffice.
