It's most disappointing that the galley is out that weekend but a BBQ may be be possible with sufficient demand.
Our fore and aft trots can accommodate 2m draft in modest numbers- exact numbers nearer the day- and there may be some swingers too.Lesser drafts more easily dealt with.
That weekend is a Spring tide (6.0 metre) so access to the drying Marina is easy for at least 2 +/- HW.
Uncertain until nearer the time how many moorings will be free but I draw 1.5m and never touch bottom on our outer trots, nor does a Nich 32 drawing 1.7m.
There may be a deep water swinger or two and a Legend 356 which I think draws 2m sits happily on one of those.
We expect to be able to employ the club launch to bring crews ashore and return them to their vessels- this is feasible 2.5hrs +/- HW
The Hoo Marina http://www.hoomarina.com/facilities.htm , which in spite of its sill largely drys out (boats sit upright in gloopy mud), says 2m draft vessels can gain access at 2.5 hours +/- HW but the withy marked creek has a high spot near the W Cardinal at the river entrance and it would be wise to assume that such a deep draft would be better advised to enter/leave the creek nearer 1hr +/- HW
There is space inside our drying dock area for 3 perhaps 4 bilge keelers, bows to at our quay- the bottom is sand/gravel on a shallow incline
As Jim has indicated, our galley is not available that weekend, most unusual and equally unfortunate, but we intend to arrange a BBQ for Saturday pm. The Marina Diner opens at weekends around 8.30am for all day breakfast, lunches etc. Hoo village has little attraction for visitors except the fish and chip shop and Indian takeaway! However, Rochester is a short mini cab ride away for those who might want to explore further afield

Edit content-- Oh dear oh dear, now I've realised I didn't scroll down far enough for now I see my earlier post- silly blighter! I shall leave this follow up since the further information may be useful
OK folks, here is the latest on the proposed 25 September weekend from HNYC.
We have a smart new BBQ just completed by members but we have never hosted a large group visit which has been dependent on such a cooking source, so we need to have a handle on the likely max/min numbers proposing to attend; the powers that be, can then make a judgement and seek to enlist the requisite number of helpers.
There is clearly some uncertainty about numbers who may attend the proposed September Hoo visit, and also some concerns about our mud! Really there's no problem on the latter whatever your draft, for we can sort a mooring and access too.
However, in view of these two points, which make it difficult for our club to ascertain whether we could organise the intended BBQ and get the necessary volunteers, HNYC is also a little apprehensivethat we may not be able to give a good account of ourselves.
Having spoken to Jim (FC) it is considered that it would be wise to postpone this year's visit until 2011 for a date when our galley is fully operational and when the club can concentrate on being an effective host to what we hope will be the arrival of many boats and crews.
So, for those who did intend to make the journey, please accept my apologies for the disappointment; for those who were 'on the fence' I do hope you will be able to attend next year.
I'm planning sailing TP back to Canvey via Havingore Jim, either the 11th or 25th (pending weather!) so I could be up for it, I was planning to badge up at QB for the night if I sailed on the 25th so I could carry on to Hoo.
