A new Challenge

Hmmm, I thought that dinghies and outboards always ran on water. Mine does.

Oh, PS. I have just (yesterday) helped bring a hydro-electric plant (Archimedes screw) online with a nominal output of 90kW. We have a tap to provide mains electric at 240V Ac to power the computers and various hydraulic stuff, so would be very interested in any system which can generate hydrogen in bulk for vehicles.
Normal dialysis-type machines seem to want very clean water input and careful (read, expensive) cleaning.

Yep it goes 500km on a litre of water.
What it doesn't say is that it only goes 10km before the battery runs out that creates the hydrogen from that water, so needs recharging. The water lasts for miles - the electricity that is ultimately the energy source behind it all doesn't last very long at all.
In fact, it would be more efficient if it used LiPO4 batteries connected to an electric motor - like a Tesla. No danger at all from highly explosive gases then.

so what is the problem then?
lack of internet in middle earth or lack of digital cameras there? cannot be the first as poster is apparently moving back and forth, so must be the second. I image it's easy to sort it, but I may be missing something here...

V.

PS. apols if I'm mixing Harry Potter with LoR, not very good at all that swords & monsters stuff...
PPS. Anders, haven't seen anyone even claiming that a diesel can run only on HHO, so no luck for you, try small, try tender engine first ;)

Vas, thanks for taking the time to reply. I had no idea HHO was unsuitable.
