Was kindly invited down to Y Felinheli at the weekend (Thanks Tom!) and lost my 'virginity' ! :o Yes I had a sail !! Never been on a Yacht with Rag & Sticks before, but that has all changed now! We even had wind power driving us!!! Also lost me breakfast, again another first never been sick on aboat before, but I put it down to the Taylors heater 'blowing back' when the sails went up. Still first time for everything :D
I'm sure Tom will be along to supply a detailed tale of what we did and where we went, but on Sunday we were aboard Littleship, with it usual high standards, except that the skipper seemed unable to catch any fish! Sunday came and we decamped over to Providence with a hell of a fella called James, not a frequenter of these Fora.
Enough talk except to say that both James and Tom caught fish on Sunday.
Here are some photos I took, only had my phone with me so please forgive the quality, but I made sure the timestamp was on as the weather was glorious especially for the 24th October!

Good to have you on board Kapitan :) and always glad to remove anybodys virginity (boating wise that is)

The photos show how nice the weather was once the rain cloud had passed by, you may not have noticed that as you were watching the inside of your eyelids. I however was trying to lift a boat from the bottom of Davy Jones locker.

We were approx 5 miles off Canarfon bar over a wreck called Segantium (sp) which was intent on stealing all my fishing gear. We then moved inshore to a partially submerged wreck near Rhoscolin where we caught a few pollock. You may not have noticed that either as you were once again watching the inside of your eyelids :)

The trip back in over the bar was in the dark and it was very cold, as it was most of the day. I remember saying that at least on Little Ship we would be stood inside with the heating on. James (everybody should have a James on board) stated that the heating was on below decks, so I went to have a look. He was right so I took a turn looking at the inside of my eyelids whilst Kapitan did another first....... helmed a sailing boat in the dark.

Apparently it was freezing on deck, I wouldnt know....... sorry I missed the fun :(

Again Mal, good to have you on board and pleased that you enjoyed the weekend.

Tom

PS Not bad considering that the forcast was for 30+ knts of wind and we got about 10 :)

No Kwaka, Tom was talking about MY FORCAST, as in casting the rod. NOT the weather forecast. I'm really rubbish at it, last time I tried before Saturday was about 46 years ago, and I have'nt got any better!
:D:D:D

Nice one Mal! Beware the slippery slope though! :)

No danger that I shall be tempted over to the 'dark side' I'm far too 'nesh' It was b l o o d y perishing bringing her up the straits, I had to keep wiping my eyes to see the buoys, my eyes were streaming with the cold, and as for my ears, felt like they were about to drop off, so I shall stick to warm dry MoBos in future :D

We'll have to take you out in a proper saily boat next...e.g. old and wooden! :D

Or Mal could come out on Mirrormile next. She's like a smaller, modern version of Little Ship, ...............but with a wake

Well don't tell anyone but when James was driving Littleship, on Saturday, we had a small (very small) Rooster Tail!!!!! Yes you heard it here first Littleship was into double figures!! :D:D:D:D
Tom was cringeing in the corner muttering something about 60/40 ;)
