Thanks for a good find which I shall read with interest - I have now just got as far as the Foreword, which was interesting in itself as I was aware of Lord Cranbrook’s former role as Chair (I think) of the then HoL Environment Committee but not of his role on the HHA Board which arose out of his environmental expertise and interests.
 
I stumbled on this interesting history of the Harwich haven free to download from the Harwich Haven Authority (HHA) website. (Others may already be familiar with it.)

It focuses on the role of the HHA when it gets to the last 150 years, but is not confined to that. It includes Felixstowe, and to some extent Mistley and Ipswich.
