a hat that does not make me look like a twassockt

Have a look in M&S. My partner being Australian and therefore melanoma obsessed ignored my protests about "Not being the hat type" and that "hats don't fit me" and bought me one of these in Plymouth a few weeks ago (different stuff availble, but this fitted me best and looked least offensive). The XL will fit my 7 5/8" head pretty well. Obviously we then had another 3 weeks with no need to wear it so I'm blaming her for the holiday wash-out.

We shop in the same places but I tend to this one... in black and khaki I like it so much... :p

I've always worked on "Big head, Big brim". Seems to work for me....... You've done the cowboy thing, surely you had the usual 10 gallon hat thing?

Titfer

my father in law has just had his melanoma move into his lymph system - which is not a good thing

it is time to grasp the nettle and look for some summerish headwear in an attempt to stop the same thing happening to me

being a jowly man means that most hats make me look even uglier and even more of a pear-headed pratt than I do without

I am pathologically averse to baseball caps

so does anyone have any suggestions - along with snaps - of a suitable titfa costing less than £10 because I the life expectancy will be low

I will lose it overboard fairly frequently

I can' help thinking Dylan that perhaps a man such as yourself star of radio, TV, forum,Internet et al should wear the mark of a true thespian - a beret!

Despite all the recommendations I was for years reluctant to fork out the money fir a Tilley. Finally bought one last year after several cheaper versions looked stupid or didn't last. Brilliant hat on the boat and off, hopefully will last for years. And it floats much better than a Breton when it goes over the side!
