Hi

I'm posting from a mobile so forgive the brevity.

I have seen a Pioner Maxi dinghy coupled with a Yamaha 15 HP 2 stroke for sale for what seems to be an excellent price. They both have been a unit since new and are ex sailing club rescue.

Does any of the brethren have an opinion on the quality of either of these 2 objects and their suitability together?

I'm thinking for a sod it let's go boating boat, rather than a tender.

The engine is a good piece of kit and while probably well used is also hopefully well maintained. I loved my yam 15.

No idea about the dinghy.

Thanks Yoda

Actually it was the "back up" rescue boat as the freeboard was too high apparently, So may not be as heavily used as expected.

I've been looking for a tough dinghy with a centre console and a reasonable amount of grunt for a few years. Our current Rigiflex Cap 300 is a bit too tippy for her and the Mercury 8 is a bit too tame for me. I'm looking for something I can occasionally open the taps on. Oh and Electric start, lovely electric start.

We tow the Rigiflex, so it gets bounced off stuff from time to time, and has come through almost completely unscathed.
