So we are fast becoming a forum of Westie Lovers.
Why is that, Is it because they are such lovely dog? Can't be cause mine is a canaptious wee Shite!! Maybe its their size, small dogs best suited for boats??

Here is what we have so far(to my limited knowledge).

1, Bosun.

Re: A Forum of Westie Lovers from a

A pet dog performed a Lassie-style rescue on a seriously-injured man in a boatyard.
Hamish, a five-year-old West Highland Terrier, led his owner into a deserted yard on the River Deben, Suffolk, where Paul Constantine, aged 61, had fallen while repairing a boat.

The clever pooch's owner Max Hoff said: "We were passing the boatyard and I heard a slight noise. I thought it was the wind in the rigging but Hamish was very insistent. He stopped in his tracks and pulled me back."

The dog is being compared to the fictional collie Lassie which saved countless people in the eponymous television series and films.

Constantine was rushed to hospital with head injuries, a dislocated elbow and fractured wrists.

Westies make great boat dogs, I've had two, both loved boating, and went boating also with a third. They don't really like getting wet, so don't want to fall in or want to swim, but can obviously if necessary. Can't reach things that you don't want them to, and are very intelligent. They like adventures.

They definately get my vote for club mascot, would vote but don't seem to be able to, whilst hlb says that after voting if he waits a few hours he can vote again, hardly democratic. Anyway more pics of 8 week old henry....

Dear Lord, please don't let SWMBO see post. She's already got her name down as foster mother to Bosun.
I'll even clean the galley twice a day, get my own whiskey, give up my mistress, and put the fenders out myself. (On second thought better remove reference to "mistress" just in case you're not listening)
If she wants something to cuddle she's always got the frying pan.

Well they may look cute

But intelligent? Never

Ours spends hours sat in front of TV waiting for any sort of animal to appear and then tries to kill it. After 3 years still hasn't caught on you can't bit glass.

A pain on the boat - has to be physically restrained from leaping overboard to savage bouys that we pass.

Only good thing she did was to bite an Australian - otherwise dim as a Toch-H lamp
