A double Numpty of the Day award

I had one of those days!

Not unusual to award myself the odd Numpty of the Day, but very rare to receive a double.

I spent the day cutting and polishing, and was making very good progress. Stepped back to admire the sheen, and kicked my bottle of wax into the water!

This was followed soon after by inadvertantly dangling the plug/adapter of my rotary machine into the water. Strangely the electrics cut out!! Thank goodness for circuit breakers.

Fortunately no audience for this one!!!

Nah, that's just a normal day for most of us. It's just that we don't admit it!

It's easily done.

When I'm using power tools with the boat in the water I tend to tie the flex around a rail or a cleat nearby. At least then it should stay out of the briney if/when dropped.

I've done that too - whilst using an electric jigsaw! Luckily, I just had time to deposit the (still running) jigsaw on the finger as I went head first into the water.

Back to the OP.

At least you noticed. I was cleaning my boat and went to get some more polish and could not find the bottle where I left it. I searched all over thinking maybe I did not leave it there. Never did find it so I can only assume I knocked it in the briney and did not notice.

I put those bumper things on the pontoon a week or two ago, and fastened both the drill (cordless) and the socket handle to my trousers cos I knew otherwise...

Guess what - I didn't drop anything in the water, not even my trousers.

PS - I have of course dropped things in the water in a previous life. Note to self, stainless steel sockets do not float, stainless steel sockets do not float

What about kneeling on the pontoon, crouching, leaning out over the water intensely working away, and the terrifying 'plop' sound as you realise you forgot to relocate your phone and car keys from your top pocket........and watch them disappear from sight into the murky depths.....

I deposited a phobile mone in a trash can in Milwaukee a few years ago. Long road trip, and lots of fast food. Cleared out at a stop, and phone must have dropped into bag. 30 miles down the road discovered the loss. Went back to the parking area, called phone to find the trash can ringing. Numpty!!!
Lost one in a Tesco freezer once, and never found it.

Triple Numpty...

Last week I packed up 3 fishing rods (seperate to my bags), travelled over 3000 klms north (Whitsundays, Queensland), fished for 7 days straight....absolutely nothing!

Left the rods in a Sydney motel room on the way home....to add insult to injury
