A crisp January Saturday in Pwllheli

First sail of the year

Went out for first time this year on Sunday just gone, Fal Bay. No wind until after about a half hour, then lovely 5-12 knots of breeze for the afternoon. Blinkin' cold when the sun went behind a cloud but glorious and there's nothing better than that moment the engine gets turned off!

Beautiful!

Popped out for a couple of hours. Silly hatwear obligatory but no sprayhood or thermals needed. Perfik, just enough wind to put the sails to bed. Roll on spring.

Ah the glories of being a dinghy sailor. Been out seven times already this year, including once singlehanded, once with the pleasure of a solo RTW sailor as my crew, twice in company with a friend's dinghy, and once with SWMBO on the helm for the duration, which was a first. Oh, and once in horizontal snow, but that was cos I hadn't been out in weeks!
