A clubbable chap.

I look on anyone with a Blue Ensign like that as its no different from joining the right yacht club?

Whenever I have been in a Coastal Harbour, the boat that is going to clout everyone else on the way in or out, is ALWAYS the one with the Blue Ensign...

(Running away to hide before the flames come at me....)

I quite agree.

Many of the boats I have observed, and in fact photographed, leaving huge swathes of wash along the upper Thames, have enjoyed flying Blue, or defaced blue ensigns.

As desirable as it may initially seem, a blue duster is not a guarantee that the Skipper won't be a ****....

Hurumpf.........

"As desirable as it may initially seem, a blue duster is not a guarantee that the Skipper won't be a ****"

Does this mean Ive gotta wait two whole years before officially becoming a "****" and is there a RYA course available in order to do it properly.? :)

Probably coming round again this year to your desolate backwater so will be able to get in bit of unofficial practice.

I know a few folk who have visited Rochester Cruising Club over the years and they speak very highly of them.

I see in the March 2010 MBM page 119 under Clubs 'Rochester Cruising Club invites new members'

'Rochester Cruising Club invites new members'

O buuger there goes me carefully spun story that the club has been after me for years and thought that I would single handedly improve their social standing.:(

Your membership will send the club soaring in the status stakes. They will rate up with The Royal Yacht Squadron, The Royal Cork, New York Yacht Club and the Yacht Club of Greece.

The RYA official **** course has been fully booked for 2010, but fortunately, I have a couple of spare tickets...

Have not yet completely given up hopes of joining a "good" club.

Rumour has it,both the "Gorbals Yacht Squadron" and the "Sheffield Posh Boat Cruising Club" are also looking for members and if all else fails it will just have to be the BCC.:)

Black balled.....

Trust me. As far as being 'Black balled' goes, Bray do not follow conventional methods.

It took me weeks to recover, and I had to stand up at the helm too!
