Not wanting to upset the harmony that prevails on Sunday Evenings at Claymore Towers I decided to video the Sports Personality of the Year programme. Came to watch it last night whilst Dear Heart was turning herself into a lotus at the weekly yoga session to find that I'd set it wrong and have got a gardening programme and some DIY - who won the blasted thing? - was it the Wilkinson?

It was Jonny indeed, thus demonstrating beyond all doubt that the phrase "sports personality" is an oxymoron.

Lengthy discussion of British Olympic yachting prospects and Steve Curtis becoming Class 1 Offshore Powerboat World Champion for the 5th time. Not.

Having seen a very small part of this, I reckon you have probably got much better programmes on your video than the purile rubbish that was supposed to be the SPOTY.

btw The Hide and Seek Champion of 2003 Award was won by Saddam Hussein. Someone sent me a picture of the presentation. He's looking well on it.
