Fed up with curtains and looked into blinds and after trawling through all the "specialist" companies ended up at B&Q where they had exactly what we wanted, day and night roller blinds, these were 160cm x 180cm and £35.00 each, we also have another pair forward of these which were 90cn x180cm, £25.00 each, a very inexpensive improvement as far as we're concerned, hopefully you think the same!
Easy to fit with a clip in system.

I'm no blind expert so can the blinds drop be reduced? I think they are 165 drop and I don't need anything like that much..

That one is 180cm drop, we just don't unroll it much, the alternative is made to measure.

I foolishly assumed both sides were the same (sigh), I took the measurements from the starboard side, so need to get one slightly longer for this side.
These are day and night blinds so they have a rod at the bottom and the blind is fixed at the top, the idea is that the stripes are back and front so you just adjust the blind at night by adjusting the height slightly so the stripes don't sit behind each other.

Thank you - I have been looking at blinds and not really come to any decision. These look interesting.

Here is a video showing how they work (go to 55 seconds), I see there are some motorised versions also
(mute on - has music)
