A change in direction

Greg, I don't know if you saw it but MBY had a feature on buying this model a couple of issues ago.

Yes, I get MBY and saw the article thanks Graham. Didn’t make it to a Plymouth to see the one featured but we were happy with the one we have bought. Staying on the south coast for a month to explore new cruising grounds - if we can get a visitors berth anywhere!

Congratulations Greg. A proper little ship and a great choice. You’ll have a lot of fun with that ?.

Thanks Jim, we are very pleased with her. Needs some TLC inside but nothing we can’t sort out during the winter.

I’ve spent a lot of time aboard 2 different Hardy 50s, both sadly now sold. Hardy do, or did, make a very good boat. Unfortunately the main man, Mark Funnell died 8 years ago and a lot of the know how went with him.
Im sure you’ll enjoy the experience of a proper little ship.

Yes, we knew Mark as he used to keep their demonstrator at our yacht club and many new boats passed through for sea trials. Very sad when he passed - taken too soon.

The 50’s are lovely boats and I always hankered after a 42 but we are absolutely delighted to have a 36, particularly one from Mark’s era.

Where are you? I'd love to come and admire if we get the chance.
