As nobody within living memory ever got killed in the rush to volunteer for jobs on our boat club committee,OG is likely to be standing in an election under the sort of circumstances normally only found in dubious oil states and Robert Mugarbeland.Ie.Nobody in their right mind wants the job,hence only one name on the list.
OG needs a way of annoying at least half the club membership,so he gets slung out of office at the next election therebye ensuring he does not get stuck organising cruises for the club for the following year.

Jeez Old Git as a Flag Officer of a respected yacht club, whatever next? Chris D doing the same at the Oxford Ditch? Mike T as a former Commodore of the Upper Thames. Sort of makes nonsense of this perception that Clubs are run by stuffy hide bound people born before WW2.
