A bright spark

Made up a shorepower lead as i wanted to charge the (nearly flat) batteries with a 240v charger. Connected the charger, switched on , every thing ok switched off and blew the charger fuse. Why? ......

Sounds like the charger fuse was just a shade too small. What size fuse was it?

Was this a fuse in the mains input to the charger, or a fuse in the DC output to the battery?

Hi Bob, the fuse is 7.5....what i can,t understand is y did it blow when i switched the power off ?

Vic, thanks for the reply.... the fuse fits in the front of the charger, will have to open it up to find if it covers in or out. what are your thoughts on the reason for blowing when the power was switched off.
