A Bit Too Close!

These guys are quite crazy! They practise in small shallow water between small islands. Sometimes it’s two or tree boats! The first is removing the water so the last is damaging the propellers’! Running a boat like this can go wrong. Once they killed a cow!

the whole military is crazy.. I can recall going on tour on exchange at one of the airbases.. ok not Navy but blimey, they threw their F16's about and knew how to party at night... need to be a bit crazy to put up with their weather.. been a couple of weeks of snow and I'm going stir crazy already :(

p.s. in the clip, a classic example of speed induced hull interaction between the vessels too !!

Thanks. In my previous post I was going to say that the distance between the boats at the beginning, is not as close as the exit, but didn't know how to say "speed induced hull interaction."

Standard Ops ....any Norwegian living near the sea is taught to perform this manouver at the age of 16 ... we keep on practicing over here with the slower moving boats, such as yachts etc.... they seem to enjoy it as well as they keep on waving to us as we pass... :p

You're not confusing waving with obscene gestures are you Alf....:)

Major:

1) Standard interception protocol..

or

2) Good when waterskiing ... depositing skier onto second boat / raft / jetty without getting wet (it's cold over there you know)... and without inducing a turn, which makes it easier for the skier to judge the speed, which increases a lot in turns as you know..

:D
