A bit of expedition canoeing

Just by way of ringing the changes we planned ages ago to canoe up the Deben. Thought no more about it until I realised it's this Sunday. We're setting off from Felixstowe Ferry at low water and hoping to make it all the way to Woodbridge in an open canoe. With any luck we'll capsize becaue the water temperature is about 10 celcius and the air temp is forecast to be around 2 degrees! Yes we've got immersion suits

I have been doing some kayaking with sea scouts the last couple of years and starting to get into it for those windless summer days.

I once chased a strange object in the water up the Deben. It turned out to be a kayak with a golf umbrella up and doing about 5 knots !

I have a sea kayak in the garage which hasn't seen the light of day for several years, a day trip sounds like a great idea.
