The view from the Deben Knolls

Yep, we had some poor vis in the Roach and Crouch.

I took the opportunity to do some blind radar nav out of Yokesfleet and round to the Crouch.

Must have done quite well, as I got the set tuned to pick up racing marks and even saw some of the small mooring marker buoys.

.What a glorious day when it cleared up!

That explains why I could hear ships fog horns from the Roach, and why my photos were fuzzy.
So not a hangover after all.

The fog hung around just outside Harwich yesterday afternoon, yet there was 12 knots around the docks and 8 knots in the Orwell for a fantastic spinnaker run upriver.

Thats why i'm stuck in Lowestoft listening to the mournful wail of the harbour foghorn instead of basking on the North Norfolk Riviera (Wells)
Couldn't see both sides of the entrance when I came in last night, and had to use the chartplotter to find my way to the Hamilton Dock /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif, now ensconced in the much more comfortable RNSYC!! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I thought I was hearing things as I was working in the boatyard in bright sunshine yesterday afternoon accompanied by the sound of distant fog horns!
Today I cycled out towards Great Oakley and there appeared to be quite a lot of 'sea smoke' towards the coast; anyone been out today?

Saturday was great out there in the Wash although coming back into Boston someone kindly decided to share a tin of beer with my mates by throwing it in the cockpit missing his kid by inches
These peoples parents must have met at the wall by the back of the pub for a few minutes and didn,t exchange phone numbers /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif
