That does sound like the one I meant. Except that I thought the ring was outside the hull (as I hope I said) because I don't see how it could work otherwise. Pity the video doesn't work for me, to clarify!

Edit: the video is present on the Internet Archive/Wayback Machine. I think it shows the ring mounted on the outside of the hull, as you would expect...
