A 137 closure this weekend

Unsure, but after reading this thread and believing everything BBC Radio Suffolk tells me, Im wondering whether 150 elephants could safely cross the Orwell Bridge.

I'm sure they could if they crossed in line: the bridge would easily take 150 HGVs. But perhaps not if they were all on top of one another.

May I park the pachyderms to ask if these timings are still expected for Nov 3/4?

closure times from the report

• Saturday, October 27 from 7am-8.30am

• Sunday, October 28 from 7am-10am

• Saturday, November 3 from 7am-8.30am

• Sunday, November 4 from 7am-10am

Thanks - I'm not yet sure that I will be making the journey this weekend, but it's useful for others to know.

Interesting, too, to read that the heffalumps will be crossing the Ostrich Creak Bridge! :)

Just to avoid any confusion that bridge is better known locally as "Bourne Bridge"

The railway bridge over the creek is also known as Ostrich Bridge in the register! I guess it is a sort of contraction of Oyster Reach. (which is name of adjacent Beefeater type place) But I like Bourne Bridge too, so that's ok then :)

Nice thread drift :)
