I am trying to fix up my boat that has fallen into disrepair. it has a 120 hp sport jet by mercury what should i do to repair it. It has 20 .6 hrs on it and it hasnt been turned over in 9 yrs. I would love any help given. I have no idea what to start with.

Suggest a really good service by a merc dealer. That engine is the 4 cyl in line merc one that was fitted to the 100 and 115 outboards. Those engines are thirsty and lack the finesse of the V6s. I would also suggest you have the jet impellor checked, as any damage or corrosion will have a major effect on performance.
