Anyone ever succeeded in making one of these? I can do 5mm no trouble at all, but getting a splice into 8mm dyneema seems beyond me. I can't get the cover to open enough. Now I think about it, whenever I've tried to put an eye in in the past I've had to sew and whip it. I've got fids of all sorts, tape, pliers everything. No chance :-(

Are you using bare 12 strand?

Are you talking about a soft-shackle or an eye-splice?

I've made several 8mm dyneema soft-shackles.

What's bare about it? No cover? I'll try to put up a picture. Thanks

Yes no cover. That "looks" okay.

I have spliced and made shackles and loops on 10mm so 8mm should be fine.

You do have to "shrunch" ie compress it, as this opens up the hollow core, to get the new core in sometimes.
