800W 240V Petrol Generator for 75 Euros

I once bought a £50 petrol pressure washer from Makro, it did 5 minutes work, leaked fuel all over my deck then I chucked it in the skip range when the piston came through the engine block and put oil everywhere. Never again!

Sorry for the constructive comments (not!) but you do pay for what you get I'm afraid!

no, it may last; I bought something like that one year ago; problems are (1) noisy (2) erratic voltage => avoid using it for electronics!

Two years ago my Machine Mart suitcase genny got a blocked jet and quit whilst we were in Wales, so I bought a 700w 2-stroke from Woolworths for £39.00 as a stop gap until I could get the other one home to the workshop. Woolworths had three at the time and I wish I'd bought all three and not just the one as I could have sold them at a tidy profit many times over. It's quiet, reliable, lightweight, has 12v charging at 8amp and a 240 volt socket. 240v and 12v run simultaneously so we can put a bit in the battery whilst doing breakfast toast, or watching tv/dvd's. So, cheap is not necessarily crap!

I have a Wolf 700 Genny that cost 49 quid in UK ... it's now 3 yrs old and still working good ...

It's often rebadged / copies in various well known shop sales !

Can't easily answer that as mine is relatively new and I haven't had to get into it's guts yet. however, for what it's worth give Wolf Technical a call, they'll often send you the spares F.O.C and will certainly give you the info you need. I've always found them very helpful (I have loads of their workshop kit). Their number is 08707 353500

I have the rebadged 2hp wolf air compressor for paint spraying. Bought from aldi for 60 quid and is as good as anything else for twice the price. I have used it for many many hours and it has been as good as anything else I have used.

You usually get what you pay for but sometimes a real gem comes along.

Have run my 8oo Watter, which is rated at 750Watts continually, will run a 1000Watt vacumum cleaner ok.found plug oiled up at 45/1 so now run at 75/1 with no problems. Waiting for the alternator to pack up then if engine is still ok will bolt LRA100 to shaft. then battery charging will be a sinch. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif
