Further to the news story Here I was watching a couple of the eights practising on the upper Firth off Loch Long on Saturday. Although the two that I saw were of a modern design, the look and feel of the boats were absolutely gorgeous.
The went to windward like witches but still had the look of graceful boats of yore.
It was only until I took a casual stroll past Hollandia in the marina at Rhu later did you realise just how high-tech the beasties really were.
They will in addition to having their World's hosted at RNCYC some will also be appearing at the CCC Scottish Series CCC , the Crinan Classics and West Highland Yacht Week
Just in case anyone wants to follow their progress this summer.
