8.1 and the Navionics card reader

Just trying to get the RayTech software to work with 8.1.
I've got the programme installed etc and it all works in simulation mode, as it did in 7 and vp before that.
However when I plug in the navionics card reader, with the cf card in it,I keep getting a message saying that I must use the Navionics card reader, even though I am.

When I put a card in the reader out of the camera, it won't read that either.

Any ideas pls.

Win 8 is simply terrible, but I think that it does have a compatibility setting as the chances are that Navionics haven't up dated their software. Suggest that you use the help section, request compatibility and play with the settings, good luck!

I have an Asus Windows 8.1 netbook and that reads the Navionics charts OK (I am running PcPlotter as the navigation software). Other data cards also read OK when I am using the reader just as a USB card reader with Win8.1 explorer. Using the 'blue' navionics card reader in both cases. Have you tried a different USB port?
