It's for an 18ft boat.

It's very likely to be untested Chinese chain, but for an 18' boat, it's probably fine.

For a boat that size, I'd go for 5m or so of chain and a good lump of rope to keep the weight down.

Looks perfectly OK to me. I am not quite sure about the 20 mm dimension, the version of DIN 766 I referred to said 18.5 mm but if you are not expecting it to pass through a windlass it will not matter anyway.

We use 6mm chain (a high tensile version) and the link is 20.4mm x 29.7mm - but its to EN818 specification, the raw chain was a lifting chain (and the gypsy is an EN818 match).

As Vyv says - size is hardly relevant if you are deploying by hand - its the strength you want and for a small yacht it should be way over strength. Your problem might be finding a small anchor that you can rely on.
