All other things being equal, I suspect it also depends on how much surplus power the boat spec had anyway. Like NickH I have a Khamsin on Kads, but they racked the hp up to bonkers levels with the D series. I didn't go alot faster but might have kept the speed with alot of people on board?
I reckon to lose 5 knots during the season, but still start with the original 43 or so. Just look at the clobber you take off the boat at the end of the season and no wonder it slows down.
Nick, I did record 49 knots or so, but that was with a little help from the French tides! Covered ground fast that day.
