530 carver

The 530/570 Carvers are great boats - I really like the layout and had one been available when I was looking Id have tried to buy it

Very rare in europe, but loads in the states. Values are difficult to pin down over here for that reason but £130k doesnt look like a bad start.

Great lower helm (especially if you have ever wanted to be Cpt Kirk) and a good three cbain layout with a central master which is almost impossible to get in similar sized vintage bvoats

One of Carver's best models and was in production from 1998 right up to 2010 ish in one guise or another

Don't get your hopes up in regards that specific boat, I enquired a month ago with Approved Boats and had a few emails back and forth but it's gone quiet and the boat is removed from their website completely. No reply to my request for an update.

Fantastic space and lay out, this has been one of my favorites as well. Without having driven one, the odds are high that there are compromizes on the sea keeping side, especially when comparing to Ferrettis :-). This is not a problem as long as the speed is kept down when the going gets rough.

We were up at craobh on our main cruise and I was admiring the boat it looked good visually out side

I agree. The 530 was once shown at a UK boat show (London I think) and I remember being very impressed. Actually aft cabin Carvers like the 390 were at one time quite common in the UK particularly on the Thames. Not sure why they give up on the UK and European market

I really like the new Carver models they have something cool about them and can work in Europe but seem they have no valid distribution.

Returning to the 530, we have one locally and it sold very competitively some four / five years ago.
They are not super fast and sea keeping was so and so. but they had a great saloon layout.
I think they where under powered with 600hp engines. But the hull rather flat was never made to go fast.
Still if you go under 20 knots in most moderate weather conditions they could do okay and rode rather flat.
The one in Malta had its gelcoat which used to fade a lot, but since the new dedicated ownership seems always shining.

Yes, it was London. I remember looking round and thinking wow, it was huge. From memory I think they popped a Harley Davidson on the back of the Flybridge :)

Henry :)

Perhaps a little cheeky of me to comment, but having seen a few of these for sale (and also admired the smaller 32ft model), it’s perhaps apparent that they might not quite just compare with the equivekant U.K. made model like a Sealine or princess. That said...perhaps a little bias comes into play and on the whole...perhaps a great buy ??

Carver 32 with aft cabin.......... Club member had one, fitted with couple of 4 cylinder Volvos. Really struggled against any decent tide in Thames estuary and required constant attention to keep in a straight line and hold a course.Needed to rev the rocks off it to get much over displacement speed. Really struggled to keep up on a trip to West India Dock was literally miles behind everyone else in the finish. Probably fine on non tidal waters or lakes but totally out of its depth anywhere else.,sold within a year. Now has a Turbo 36.

Having spent a couple of hours crawling all over one at a dealers in Florida it is my first choice if I was buying a boat that size. I love the alternative layout as compared to the bog standard of central companion way found in 90% of other makes, also the sky lounge is a great place to sit at anchor and under way, and as others have said the Starship Enterprise helm is something else! Its just refreshing to see a builder doing something different from everyone else.
