you are correct Mike F,
while more fancy at anchor or in harbour the 550 feels less safe on the move
I have been on the 53 in Force 6 head seas at 23 knots and you are unmovable on that dinette, the same for the helm seat inside
may be thats why I still like that boat, had some great experiences with the 53 in my past...

PY, you know I'm interested in the 53/530 for my next boat. Most Ferrettis drive through V-drive gearboxes but the 53/530 has a 'normal' shaft arrangement. Does this make much difference to the way the boat feels at sea?
