49.6m Conversion Project: Supply Vessel to Support Yacht

Very good Robert ... think you'll need a photo hosting website to upload pictures to, then link to them from here ...

Wishing you all the best for the season !!

You too Alf, thanks so much for all the nice commentary and guidance. Hoping 2018 isnthe year of the cruise. :)

Rob,
The server space allocated by YBW for forumites to store and post pictures is quite limited. In the past we used to use Photobucket but that option has gone. Some of us use Dropbox which works well. Instructions on how to do it are here, it may seem tedious at first glance but once you've done it a few times it's easy and quick. Kudos to forumite Baba Yaga for publishing the little trick which makes it possible.

Awesome.

Thought I replied earlier, but mix this website, my mobile phone, and any kind of technical requirement, and it's a recipe for frustration!

I tried... But it will have to wait for another time, I'm not able to follow instructions like this from a mobile, without frustrating myself!

The lovley snow pics of a nearly stripped boat (like a tree in autumn) awaiting its new suit, will have to wait.

A passing thought. With all the heavy kit taken out, the ship seems to be floating well above her marks. Has the OP added compensatory ballast before the trials, otherwise she might be a bit rolly with probs about the GofG and metacentric height.

She's got about 200 tonnes of water ballast.

The stability guys and engineers are all aboard and the stability books say it's good, but you're welcome to come double check.

We have about 500 cubes of spare tankage...

Possibly moving again soon. :)

Seriously though about selling her after all her engines and machinery were kindly overhauled.

Just can't do it.

The adage is partly true: happiest day of my life was the day I first drove this boat (not bought it - that was surreal).

But that's been trumped. I became a dad for the first time this year... And the euphoria of parking a 50m life-long dream, no damage, was no match for the arrival of a little human.

Very happy too. I got a bit gun-shy from the last post, and didn't want to bother people with stuff. But yes, it's a real dream. I love it. And it's cool to think that maybe this little guy will get to bob around the ocean with us on our beast of a project one day. :)
