46 foot Yacht sinks off Wexford

I'd rather have a full keel and a rudder attached to it.

Harder for the Orcas to chomp on as well.

But we have no idea what caused this damage. It was at night, 50nm offshore, so I am guessing a container or similar debris?

A nightmare. Thankfully the boat floated long enough for them all to step off it onto the Lifeboat

Ah, missed that - if they had fixed it (with tallow and red lead?) then PBO would indeed be the appropriate place but otherwise I would have expected it here.

I think the odds were somewhat in the ferry's favour in that case, although neither would have had a good day in the event of a dunt. Was the watchkeeper on a fag break?

Seems from the report that they only started to sink when they were take under tow. They were limping back to Kilmore Quay when met by th lifeboat 50 miles out.

If that's the one, then it's not the same boat as linked to in the Marinetraffic page on the OP. That has a more modern plumb bow.
