I am looking for a 40 footer with a sheltered upper saloon (glasdoors) but with an small dinette down for the kids, found The Galeon 425HTS that has this. Is there any more 40 footers with this layout? can only find the Bavaria S40 coupe, a flybridge would also work.
Don´t really need the kitchen down but a small table so the kids can sit and play around it while you prepare a meal in the saloon upstairs.
Any tips?

Hi
I have this boats in my candidates:) Until i saw Aquaholic video on the 425HTS and saw there are models with this layout. We have two kids that har 4 and 6 years so would be great with a boat with little/none canvas

You need to have a look at the Galeon 400 fly, I think this boat is about to take the market head on, its nothing short of sensational. I saw the one at Hamble point last week, and its out of this world good.
Don't take my word for it, highly recommend a view.

I’m cUrrently visiting Burnham Yacht Harbour, Essex. Next berth but two has a Cranchi Smeredo 37 which I’m told is for sale by the owner. He has upgraded a few weeks ago to a Fairlline flybridge 38 and now is selling the Cranchi. Price is v close to your budget and it looks superb externally. I have a sailing boat so I don’t know much about mbs.

OP's after a coupe (hardtop with doors), I think that Cranchi is an open boat aka sportscruiser...?

The S40 has IPS engines now. Not sure if its an option or they have switched over to them permanently

Well that's news to me. Where did you see that?
The hull would require re-tooling / engineering for IPS which seems unlikely. And I would have expected some big announcement.

The manufacturer website doesn't mention it:
BAVARIA S40 Equipment | BAVARIA YACHTS

and neither is the replacement SR41 which uses the same hull:
BAVARIA SR41 Equipment | BAVARIA YACHTS

But would be interested to see it.

Sorry.........because i saw the VP Joystick i assumed that they were IPS engines when i know that you can use the VP joystick with shafts too

I'll get my coat ?

Ah OK. The joystick on the S40 is paired with outdrives. "Aquamatic". Same idea as IPS, independently controlled legs and electronic steering. Works very well.

No position hold feature with outdrives otherwise pretty much the same.

In a new boat this electrickery is all good but no doubt as they get older the gremlins will creep in.
