Anyone recommend a suitable 4 core screened cable to replace the one on my masthead unit?
Would a 4 core 8723 Screened Alarm cable be OK to use?
I know NASA do a replacement cable, but was hoping to buy a 50 mtr reel to replace the GPS cable at the same time.
Needs to be a suitable conductor to solder, so either tinned or copper conductor (multi strand not solid core)
Thanks

I found tinned multi-strand cable at Maplin (on their website).

Belden 8723 would be ideal, two twisted pair shielded tinned multi strand, available in varying spool lengths. BTW, you need multi strand regardless of termination method to prevent stress fracturing and even plain copper multi strand is not a good idea in a salt environment, especially in exposed areas. example of supplier here but you will find elsewhere, a very common cable. http://uk.farnell.com/belden/8723/shld-cable-2-pair-22awg-grey-per/dp/1218667
