My gelcoat hull is quite tired (but pretty good CONSIDERING for a 30 yr old tub). As my arms were falling off with wax and polish in the yard last week .......I got to thinking....
Well they do it for cars I thought, and then I decided a boat hull must be much easier. fewer angles
The finish is great on a car.

How would it fare after a few years I wonder..........or would it be a no no.............

And then I found the PBO article _

costs anyone ?

Was covered in detail in a recent YM feature complete with indicative costings and comparison with other finishes.

I saw a boat being vinyl wrapped in a yard in Italy about a month ago. It took them a day to do the entire boat (33ft), I was informed it was about half the price of a re-spray and lasted about 10 years (optimistic i think).

One thing I didn't ask about and wish I had is what happens if you have a little rub with the dock and damage it, how do you repair it? Paint is easy and can often be done in the water, but a vinyl repair may be a bit more tricky!
