I need to complete my SSB installation by linking the ground plate and ATU with copper foil. Does anyone have a good source of this potentially expensive material?? I'll probably need about 20m

Thank you!

fwiw, I have made a few installations (for shorter lengths) with domestic copper tubing, the one used for water, gas, etc, split lengthwise with the angle grinder, opened up and then flattened (longish job)
it remains reasonably flexible, and is a lot more resistant than foil

Some years ago, I bought my 3" (75 mm) copper tape from West Marine in the States. I ordered a 50 foot roll as I knew I'd need to change the stuff after a few years.

Unbelievably it was MUCH cheaper than here in the UK AND was delivered within ten days!

Lord knows what the relative costs would be now, but it might well be worth a call.

Incidentally, whilst I glued my tape to the hull and engine housing and painted it with Danboline, it still deteriorated eventually, but I had the spare tape from the roll, so and it was a doddle to fit a replacement. As it happens, I still have enough left to to do it at least once more!! /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Just fitted 2" copper strip bought from sailcom. This strip is not a foil and nearly 1mm thick. I coated my copper with a conformal coating spray from RS that I bought on Ebay. so I hope it will last me out.
