Popped into the shop over the weekend to order a 2m 3D tender and was told there were major legal issues in the UK between the supplier and the manufacturer and that the manufacturer had attempted to take legal action against all companies that sold or had stock of the 3D tenders..

Anyone else heard anything about this?

Was told they were getting an alternative lightweight inflatable from Highfield shortly which I could take a look at when they come in..

The 3D (UK) website is showing them all as "out of stock" however Force 4 is still showing them on their site.

If the story is true then my guess is what's listed is existing stock.. According to what I was told getting more stock into the UK will be an issue with the legal situation.. Unless of course they resolve it and all goes back to normal..

The 3D UK site does say stocks due in August, maybe just keeping things "Alive " while the situation is sorted out. http://3dtenders.co.uk/acatalog/3dtender-models.html

I suspect its the manufacturer trying to control where the supplies come from in each country due to different market/WS pricing or something. Prob someone has imported some to the UK from a source in a cheaper market to get a better price and thus margin. Just a guess, but it's not uncommon.

Free market economy. Not sure it is legal in the EU for a manufacturer to stop it. If they don't want alternative pricing for their products they should be careful to whom they sell them. My suppliers don't tell me where I can sell their goods, that's my business.

They have been out of stock in all outlets in UK that I could find since early May. Always on a promise to arrive in a couple of weeks. F4 took my order but not my cash and wrote in late June that they would be in stock in mid July - I ordered at the beginning of May.
Gave up and bought a second hand dinghy which will suffice for a couple of seasons.
Shame because they do look good.
