3d Ali tender

Don't have one but did have a 2.8 M Rib eye with Ali hull , the boat weighed 35 Kg which. I thought would be ideal and it was in many respect especially with a 6 Hp two stroke powering us along . At the time we towed our tender everywhere and invariably left the tender with O/b on whilst at anchor .I found the boat was actually too light and very prone to flip in high winds even with outboard on stern, eventually I swopped to a heavier 3.2 Rib eye and the combined weight of boat and engine seems more stable although we don't normally tow with engine attached .So other than being too light it was fine but much prefer the larger tubes and heavier 3.2 .I know its not identical but I'd never considered if the tender could be too light .

One point, just from looking at the pictures - might be worth measuring the distance from transom to end of boat, and comparing with other designs. Looks like the transom is set well forward, reducing usable space (something I have noticed in a few dinghies)
Most of us with constraints on overall boat length want maximum interior length relative to total size

Different model but I bought a 3D super light 320. Light and convenient but a year after purchase I was motoring back to the boat against strong winds and a nasty chop when the outboard failed. After a couple of minutes rowing the patch holding the oarlocks completely tore from the hull. An inconvenience but also a significant safety issue. I didn't much like drifting towards Mexico without motive power until I (fortunately) managed to restart the motor.

Later, I restuck the patch and rowed around the boat a couple of times. Sure enough the other oarlock patch tore off too.

Contacted retailer and 3D - neither interested. I wouldn't buy another 3D dinghy
