We are loosing deisel from the tank on our Moody 376 . I would appreciate any information about removing this tank. I suspect it may come out over the engine and into the corridor alongside the quarterberth, so would appreciate hearing from anyone who has replaced one . Replacement sources would also be of interest.

Sorry, can't help with tank removal - yours sounds easy - I hope I never get any problems with mine, the only way I can see to remove it is to remove the engine first!!
Tanks - try www.tek-tanks.com They have a range of ready made plastic tanks or will make up tanks to your sizes - never bought anything from them yet but they are very helpful

I'd rather be sailing... :-)

Courtesy is an iota but makes the world go round

The woodwork behind and to the left of the companionway steps comes out, giving full access to the fuel tank. The woodwork is in two parts, and it's only the leftmost part that comes out for this exercise. The split is behind the steps. Once out the fuel tank is fully accessible and can be lifted out to be worked on. I don't think it's small enough to be taken out of the boat.

Kris

Thanks for your reply. I have removed the top of this panelling but can't see any obvious join. Exept between the fridge & Tank . Any more clues would be appreciated . Ours is a 1987 build. I have yet to lift the bilge boards. Will that reveal any fastenings etc. The top is screwed on under the Formica finish & we hacksawed the screws through to release it . They don' t make it easy do they .
Many Thanks
Shaun
