New J boat 135 berthed just before us at Hamble Point late Sunday evening. Owner was quite pleased with 11 hrs from St Peter Port to Hamble Point.

I too smile when Solent gave weather forecast as F5 to 7 and stated weather now in Solent F8!

Re: 35\' MAB beats channel X record ....

Inshore forecast in the solent did admit to Force 9 for a time, and Parahandies system actually recorded a Force 10 for a short period.

Its not an iron he needs for the creases, but some form of shrink spray due to new sails noow being rather more baggy than when they left the sail loft.

My buddy was down the marina Sunday (Northney) and was going sailing, but with 30knts in the marina, he thought, nah!

Re: 35\' MAB beats channel X record ....

Sorry, no record, my 1991 35' white plastic boat averaged 8.2 kts X channel on several trips in nothing more than a good F6.

Re: Rowlocks

J Boats would be very upset, and rightly so. J's are made to sail fast, with accomodation a secondary consideration. So, my apologies, you're obviously a man/woman of taste, and no mean scholar. But it's still not a MAB, no comparison with Parahandy's old truck.

Re: Rowlocks

I'm disappointed with your knowledge of J-Boats, you obviously have not seen the full cruising accomodation of: J32, J34c, J35c, J37c, J42, J44, J46 and the new J65. Thier interiors lack for nothing compared with any AWB and stowage, tankage etc is at least as good.

Re: Rowlocks

Now you have made me wish I still had a J. I don't think the Forum has decided on a definitive acronym for my current type of boat - a typical Swedish cruiser, MOSB perhaps.
