Not that it perhaps will make a lot of difference but I was told to only use the 2 stroke oil which is suitable for Outboards. And are you using unleaded petrol.

Update: Well we got about half a mile heading for rally, but successive stalls persuaded me that it wasn't worth the risk and I turned back and recovered it! 
It's going in on Wednesday anyway so should get some answers and thus not going to tinker any further...
Made it to rally by car and everyone else had a great day anyway - around 25 Fletchers and 3 others. My colleague did all the water based coordination. The only one's to miss out was us and about a dozen others who either couldn't get boats or trailers ready in time so perhaps a couple of weeks later next year - two of these also spectated... We couldn't have picked better weather for event and there's always next weekend for me to get out on the boat so no regrets
There were a number of owners who had not used their boats on the sea before and were very pleased to have had others around. The easterlies held off, as did the rain.
Jim - thanks, yes unleaded and marine 2-stroke (Castrol). I think the engine's 87-89 era so would think unleaded would be ok?

Ordinary, 95 RON, unleaded petrol is the correct fuel to use.
Any Oil to TC-W3 specification should be suitable
