Having followed the recent threads on roaming I was convinced 3 was the answer for mobile internet in Spain. I'm aware of the oft discussed 2 month rule and thought my new sim and 20euro top up was going to be the all you can eat answer.
Unfortunately I'm not getting free internet or calls here in Costa Blanca via Movistar.
Am I missing something?

Just come back from Alicante and my UK 3 PAYG worked well, 20MB down speed. £10 top up gives 1GB data 100 mins and 300 texts. for 30 days

You need to talk to 3 customer services about this.
All my family use 3 extensively in Spain and have never been billed a penny outside my price plan. The local provider is Moviestar
The only problem we had is finding that one of our phones didn't have roaming enabled, that was a real problem getting resolved while we were in Spain.

Hi... It is slightly more complicated than you might think. First of all you buy credit and then you MUST use that credit to purchase an Add-on (see this page http://www.three.co.uk/Support/Pay_As_You_Go/Phone_tariffs )

They keep on changing the add-ons but, this month, the all you can eat data add on costs £25 and lasts for 30 days.

I'm just back from the Costa Blanca two weeks ago and it worked very well.

Like Mike says, you must buy an Add-on with your credit. Also, if you only intend to use it abroad there is no point in All you can eat data for £25 as you are limited to 12Gb overseas, so buy the £20 Add-on.

Just had a very expensive chat with 3 Ireland customer service. Spain is not a same as home country for 3Ireland. Was advised to switch off roaming and use cafe with fi. Very annoyed as I discussed roaming with agent I bought the sim from. 20 euro down the drain.
Back on my Libara 2 gig package.
