Taking my goddaughter and her friend to the Folly tomorrow night, O know Saturday would be better table dancing and all.

Would it be more entertaining for them to go to Cowes, thought about Yarmouth but might be a bit quiet for them and the weather might turn them green lol

Advice appreciated

they will prefer Gunwarf quays but you might not!

I took 5 girls for an 18th birthday party to the folly a couple of months ago. They loved it. I don't know if the locals were looking at the girls dancing on the tables or the fact that they were dancing with an old bloke!
I have never however had to clean of so much fag ash, false eyelashes and false nails from the back of the boat.
Booking the walkashore is a huge benefit as they go back to the boat repeatedly.

edit - just saw you said tomorrow - mine was a saturday. 100% agree that gunwharf is better.

Another vote for Gunwharf. The Folly hands down at the weekend but on a Monday night it will be like any other pub.

Maybe take a berth in Haslar or Gosport, which (IMHO) are nicer places to be if you are going to be left on the boat.

The fact that there is a ferry between them and the bright lights of Gunwharf creates an easy curfew, too!

Jack

The Folly will be quiet, Cowes won't be much busier - doubt if you will even find any live entertainment on a Tuesday. They should expect to have ID for age checked too, they are pretty hot on it on the island at the moment.

Thanks Mark, might go to OV and take them to the London Inn, not sure what they have in terms of entertainment on a Tuesday but on the basis that I've taken her parents to a Gay Bar I think I should take her as well lol.

Can you give me a call when you get a chance, just had a quote from Advanced Marine Decking for replacing the Teak and wanted your thoughts

Yes there is a marina right next to the bars and clubs. You do need to book and it can be a bit rocky due to ferries etc but nothing too bad. Clubs have to shut windows at 11 so not too loud later on. 31ft. = about £35. Remember to call Qhm on channel 11 to get permission to cross from ballast buoy to gun wharf. gunwharf 023 92836732

Thanks, what marina is it?
