Hi Roger,
I can see my late parents boat almost dried out at the edge of the water.
We moved her at high water on the Saturday.
My main recollection is that there was no electric in their village for a week and they brought all their frozen stuff to mine in Hertfordshire. We drove back to Suffolk separately and I wrote off my car on the roundabout at Fourwentways.
I stood in the road and waved at them as they drove past 5 minutes later. When we caught up at their place some hours later my father admitted he'd "seen some bloke at the side of the road but thought he was a drunk!"
Their previous boat went ashore at Aldeburgh, but being a graceful lady parked herself neatly against the seawall, with only a slight angle of heel. More than could be said for the small GRP motorboat just visible smashed into the saltings under her 3ton lead keel.

Hi Rog,
Glad to see something(posting) keeping you busy in your retirement.
Hows the old barge?
Interesting that Mr Matthews thinks the time is right for a price hike at Foxs. Or is it the non-domestic rates biting into margins?
Drove past Oyster house on way to Colchester RUFC the other weekend ( we lost)-quite a setup.
John.
