25mm prop on 1 " shaft.

Wanting to fit a 25mm prop to my 1 inch prop shaft, I am guessing it won't be an issue, has anyone any practical experience.

The problem is likely to be in the taper. 1" shaft is liable to have a 1:12 taper, the 25mm prop liable to be 1:10.

Yes. Can't be done. May be possible to machine the taper to suit 1".

On my website you can see a couple of examples of crevice corrosion of propshafts caused by poor fit. Putting the incorrect size prop on the shaft might well lead to similar problems. http://coxengineering.sharepoint.com/Pages/Crevice.aspx

I always thought metric shaft = metric taper= 1:10 .
Imperial shaft = imperial taper 1:12

Thanks for info everyone, looks like there may be an issue, need to double check my shaft with a vernier.

A good machinist could bore out against a shoulder , then bore the correct taper for you.

On my little lathe, machining the shaft would be easier than the prop, as the set up is straight forward. If desperate, I would fit the prop with thickened epoxy to even out the tapers.
